Fire extinguisher sprayed on bus driver

A bus driver and passengers were allegedly sprayed with a fire extinguisher after a woman became involved in an altercation on a bus in Lyneham.

Police allege the incident occurred on Wednesday morning when a 29-year-old woman began arguing with other passengers.

The driver intervened and spoke with the woman before she allegedly approached the driver’s compartment and attempted to grab the keys.

She is accused of assaulting the driver and breaking his sunglasses.

Police allege the woman then removed a fire extinguisher and discharged it at the driver and other passengers before leaving the scene on foot. Officers found the woman in Lyneham that afternoon and arrested her.

She has been charged with property damage, acting to cause public alarm and common assault.
