Franklin man charged over months-long domestic violence

A Franklin man has been charged following allegations of repeated domestic violence against his partner over several months.

Police were called to a Franklin residence on Saturday morning after receiving reports a woman had been assaulted. Officers were told the man had left the home before they arrived.

Police allege the man assaulted his partner on 14 occasions over a three-month period, including choking her until she lost consciousness. He is also accused of taking intimate images of the woman without her consent.

The man was arrested in Franklin that evening. He has been charged with 14 counts of aggravated common assault, aggravated choking and rendering a person insensible, and capturing visual data of another person.
