A 17-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated robbery following an incident in Belconnen late last year.
At about 8pm on November 13, a woman and her mother were sitting at the Belconnen bus interchange when they were approached by a teenager who allegedly demanded cash from the woman.
When she refused, the teenager allegedly produced a large knife and threatened the women.
A short struggle occurred before the teenager allegedly fled the scene with a small bag containing cash.
Following enquiries with the victims and a review of CCTV footage, police identified the alleged offender.
On Saturday night, police attended a residence in Bonner for unrelated matters, where the wanted teenager was located.
He was arrested and will face the ACT Children’s Court charged with one count of aggravated robbery using an offensive weapon.
