Horror grips Bondi as shooters unleash terror on crowds

Australia is reeling after gunmen opened fire on crowds of people at Bondi Beach, killing at least 12 and injuring many more.

  • Hundreds of people had gathered for the Chanukah by the Sea event to celebrate the start of the Hanukkah Jewish festival at Bondi Beach on Sunday night

  • Twelve people are dead, including one of the gunmen, after two men opened fire on the crowd about 6.47pm

  • At least 29 people are injured

  • Police disarmed “suspicious devices” found in a vehicle linked to the dead gunman

  • Reports bystanders disarmed one of the gunmen

  • Two people in police custody

  • Public told to avoid the area

  • Political and Israeli leaders condemn shootings, labelling it a terrorist attack
