Restaurateur charged with multiple assaults on employee

A 40-year-old restaurant owner was arrested at his Braddon premises on Friday and charged with assaulting an employee on three occasions.

Another employee, 40, is facing court for also allegedly assaulting the victim.

Police were alerted after the victim attended hospital to be treated for serious injuries as a result of the alleged assaults at the restaurant.

Police allege that on three separate occasions in November, the restaurant owner assaulted the victim multiple times, including slapping him in the head and kicking him.

On one occasion, a 40-year-old employee allegedly punched the victim in the head while the owner was kicking him.

The restaurant owner has been charged with four counts of common assault and one count of intentionally inflicting actual bodily harm. The 40-year-old employee has been charged with intentionally inflicting actual bodily harm.
