Photographer charged with sexual assault

A 57-year-old man has been charged after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman he met on social media.

Police say the man began communicating with the woman in August 2019 after offering his services as a photographer. They met in 2019 and 2020 and during those meetings police allege he sexually assaulted her.

The incidents were reported to police in July 2020, but following an investigation, the matter was finalised without charge.

With the support of the complainant, the police reopened the case and in October 2025 the man was issued with a summons, charged with reckless sexual intercourse without consent, acts of indecency without consent and threatening to distribute intimate images.
