Two arrests during aggravated burglary in Braddon

Two people were arrested and a firearm seized following an alleged aggravated burglary at a unit in Braddon on Friday night.

Police responded to a report of a firearm-shaped object allegedly being used to smash a window to gain access to a vacant unit in Braddon and arrested a 39-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman inside the unit.

In searching the unit, police found an imitation firearm, a firearm ammunition magazine and further items believed to have been stolen from an alleged burglary of a home in Higgins on October 23 and again, overnight, between November 7 and 8.

The pair have been charged with aggravated burglary and the man also charged with unauthorised possession of a firearm.
