A 78-year-old Pearce man died in hospital on Friday from injuries sustained last week when a reversing truck pushed him into the rubbish collection area at the Mugga Lane Resource Management Centre.
He is the ACT’s sixth road fatality for the year.
Police and ambulance paramedics were called to the aid of the man on the afternoon of October 1. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but died on Friday.
Police say that as the centre is considered a road-related area and regularly used by the public, the death is considered a road fatality. A report is being prepared for the coroner.
