Since Saturday, two people have died of suspected drug overdoses in separate incidents and police are warning of potentially lethal illicit drugs in circulation in Canberra.

Police are urging people with drug dependencies and those around them to be aware of the signs of overdose and not to hesitate before seeking medical assistance.

They say users can also collect free naloxone kits from chemists and other health facilities.

Drugs can be tested at CanTEST, which provides free and confidential chemical analysis of pills and drugs intended for personal use, as well as tailored information and harm reduction advice.

There is also a range of support services and advice for those using drugs from Canberra drug treatment organisations.
