Police bust $30,000 worth of drugs

A 45-year-old man, subject to a good behaviour order, has been charged with drug trafficking offences after police searched residences in Greenway and Duffy on Wednesday, seizing drugs valued at $30,000.

In April, police began an investigation into the Greenway man’s alleged involvement in drug trafficking and participating in a criminal group in the ACT.

The Greenway and Duffy searches revealed:

  • Ammunition
  • Knuckle dusters
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Prescription drugs
  • About 28.5 grams of methylamphetamines
  • About 27.5 grams of heroin
  • $860 in cash
  • Paperwork believed to track drug sales

Police say the estimated street value of the seized drugs is about $30,000 and they will allege the man has an ongoing customer base that relies on his supply of drugs.

The man – who was subject to good behaviour obligations from previous court convictions – was charged with two counts of drug trafficking, possessing a prohibited weapon, possession of ammunition, possessions of a declared substance without authorisation and possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.
