After 25 years and a fleet of 16 planes, QantasLink has retired its propeller-driven Q-300 series aircraft typically used on the service between Canberra and and Sydney.
The planes have been replaced with the larger Q-400 propeller aircraft – with the occasional 737 jet service from Qantas flying between Canberra and Sydney.
Many celebrities have been onboard the smaller 50-seat aircraft, including the Wiggles, Kylie Minogue and John Travolta.
The retirement of the aircraft is part of the Qantas Renewal Program with QantasLink transitioning to a single fleet of the Q400 series.
