A 28-year-old Taylor man has been charged after allegedly choking and assaulting his partner and her dog.

Police say that on Tuesday night, the man allegedly assaulted his partner at their residence, slapping her multiple times.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, he allegedly grabbed the woman by her throat and choked her on two occasions.

That night, the man allegedly also struck the woman’s dog and threatened to kill it by throwing it off the balcony.

Police say the man was arrested on Wednesday night and charged with two counts of aggravated common assault, two counts of choking/suffocating/strangling another person, aggravated damage to property and cruelty to animals.
