Police arrest early morning drunk drivers

A blue Mitsubishi Lancer was caught speeding at 128km/h in an 80km/h speed zone on Drakeford Drive, Kambah, just after midnight on Saturday. 

The 48-year-old driver from Harrison returned a positive result for alcohol and later, at Tuggeranong Police Station, he returned a breath analysis of 0.117. The legal limit is 0.05. he was arrested and charged with speeding and drink driving.

In a separate incident, around 1am police stopped an unregistered blue Mitsubishi Triton on Gungahlin Drive in Gungahlin. The 23-year-old driver from Harrison, who was suspended from driving, tested positive to a roadside breath test, which was confirmed with a breath analysis result of 0.147  at Gungahlin Police Station.

He was arrested and charged with drink driving, driving while suspended and driving an unregistered vehicle.
