Man charged with multiple burglaries at construction sites

A 36-year-old Narrabundah man – who was subject to bail conditions – was arrested late on Friday night and charged over multiple burglaries at construction sites across Canberra since February.

Police allege that from February 16 to May 12 the man was involved in eight burglary and theft incidents.

On June 6 police searched the man’s home and seized dozens of power tools and other property suspected to be stolen from the construction site burglaries.

The man was subsequently arrested in Griffith where police found a large quantity of property believed to be related to the burglaries as well as other items suspected to be stolen including four high-end push bikes worth an estimated $15,000 and a large number of power tools with estimated value of $60,000.

The man has been charged with six counts of burglary, six counts of theft, two counts of trespass, unlawful possession of stolen property, five traffic-related offences and breaching bail.
