A 28-year-old man, on a good behaviour order, was arrested in possession of five knives in Dickson on Wednesday.
Responding to reports of a man with a knife, police found him and searched his backpack, locating five knives.
The man faces three counts of breaching good behaviour obligations and five counts of possessing a knife without a reasonable excuse.
Police say it is a serious offence to possess a knife in public with no reasonable excuse to do so. “Personal protection” is not a lawful reason to carry a knife. Penalties include fines and imprisonment for up to six months.
