Canberra gallery wins exhibition award

“CANBERRA/KAMBERRI, Place & People”, the new permanent exhibition at Canberra Museum and Gallery, has won a 2023 Museum and Galleries National Award in the “Permanent Exhibition or Gallery Fit-Out”.

Cultural institutions across Australia and NZ compete for the awards. This year’s MAGNA winners were announced in Newcastle on Monday as part of the Australian Museums and Galleries national conference.

As CMAG’s first permanent exhibition, the show encompasses stories, personalities, and events that have shaped Canberra’s past and present and features more than 200 items and works from CMAG’s collection.
