Community asked how prepared they feel for a disaster

A COMMUNITY survey is asking Queanbeyan and Palerang residents how ready they feel the community is in the event of a disaster.

The survey comes from Elton Consulting, who have been engaged by Resilience NSW to undertake a two year evaluation of the Regional Disaster Preparedness Program (RDPP) following increased engagement around disasters given the events of the last few years.

Included in the survey are questions about where residents turn to for information in a disaster, whether they are aware of the risks in their local area and how they would respond in a disaster.

Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council (QPRC) is encouraging community members to take the survey, saying that the feedback locals provide can inform state programs and funding into the future.

The survey will be open until September 17 and can be found here.
