Canberra residents have a new, affordable way to travel directly to Parramatta, with FlixBus launching a daily coach service connecting the national capital with Sydney’s thriving western business district.
And there’s even more reason to get on board, with $3 seats available for travel until 9 November 2026 across the entire Parramatta–Western Sydney International Airport–Goulburn–Canberra route.
Launched on 25 October, the new service provides two departures in each direction, seven days a week, offering a convenient and affordable alternative for Canberrans travelling to Western Sydney for business, shopping, leisure or visiting family and friends.
Canberra to Parramatta without the Sydney CBD
For Canberra travellers, one of the biggest advantages is being able to reach Parramatta directly, without the need to travel through central Sydney.
The journey takes approximately three hours and 45 minutes, with regular fares starting from just $32.99 between Canberra and Parramatta.
As Sydney’s second CBD and one of Australia’s fastest-growing business districts, Parramatta offers extensive shopping, dining, entertainment and commercial opportunities.
The new connection makes it easier for Canberra residents to access Western Sydney, whether attending business meetings, planning a weekend away or visiting friends and relatives.
Daily departures and affordable fares
The service operates seven days a week, with two departures in each direction.
Initial departures from Canberra’s Jolimont Tourist Centre are scheduled for 6am and 4.45pm, while services from Parramatta depart at 11.15am and 10.45pm.
The route is operated by Deanes Coaches Group, the established family-owned coach operator already partnering with FlixBus on its daily Sydney–Canberra service.
Travellers should check current departure times when booking.
Connecting Canberra with Western Sydney Airport
Alongside the direct Parramatta connection, the service provides Canberra residents with access to Western Sydney International Airport (WSI), creating an additional transport option for travellers using Sydney’s newest aviation gateway.
Fares start at $29.99 between Canberra and WSI Airport, while Parramatta–WSI Airport tickets start at $21.99.
The Goulburn stop also provides an important connection for regional NSW residents travelling to Canberra, Western Sydney or the airport.
