A 25-year-old man, subject to bail conditions, has been charged with burning his partner with a cigarette and assaulting her.

Police went to the hospital on Monday after the woman sought treatment for her injuries.

It will be alleged the man assaulted his partner in early March, causing serious injuries, before assaulting her again on the weekend, punching her and burning her with a cigarette.

He was arrested in Symonston on Tuesday afternoon and charged with five counts of aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
