Woman, 80, charged over fatal Mawson crash that killed 4-year-old boy

An 80-year-old woman has been charged over the death of a four-year-old boy following a collision at Southlands Shopping Centre in January.

Police say the woman was driving a car that struck the boy before continuing into a BWS liquor store shopfront on January 18.

The boy was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where he later died.

Following an investigation, the woman has been charged with culpable driving causing death and negligent driving causing death.
