Teen charged with multiple family violence offences

An 18-year-old man has been charged with multiple family violence offences after allegedly attacking his former partner over a three-month period.

Police allege the man strangled, assaulted and stalked the woman on multiple occasions between March and May.

In one incident, he allegedly drove a car while the woman was on the bonnet.

The incidents were recently reported to police and the man was arrested outside Gungahlin Police Station about 4.30pm on Sunday.

He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm, aggravated stalking, acts endangering life with an offensive weapon, and act endangering health – strangle.
