Teen charged with driving stolen car

A 17-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly driving a stolen car at police while on bail.

Police say a red Volvo SUV was stolen from a Griffith home about 5.45am on Wednesday and later seen in a nearby car park.

Officers blocked the exit when the boy allegedly drove at a police vehicle while trying to flee, colliding with the car and a wall.

He was arrested at the scene and charged with driving at police, driving a stolen motor vehicle, and unaccompanied learner driving.

Anyone who witnessed the vehicle driving across Canberra is urged to contact police via the Crime Stoppers website.
