A Taylor man has been extradited from Queensland after police linked him to a series of alleged violent offences across Canberra, including an armed robbery, a home invasion and multiple burglaries.
Police allege the 49-year-old was involved in a string of incidents over several days in early December, including an aggravated burglary in Macquarie, an attempted ram raid at a Kingston business, a home invasion in Conder where a 72-year-old woman was allegedly tied up, a second aggravated burglary in Gordon and an armed robbery at a currency exchange business in Dickson.
Investigators believe three people were involved. One alleged offender died following a collision on an exit ramp off Gungahlin Drive, while two other men remained outstanding.
Police appealed for public help to locate one of the alleged offenders late last month.
Police say the Taylor man was located by Queensland police in Cooktown on Monday. He was allegedly found with a large sum of cash, which investigators believe may be the proceeds of the Dickson armed robbery.
The man was extradited back to the ACT on Friday and charged with multiple offences, including theft, ride or drive a stolen motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and forcible confinement.
Investigations are continuing to identify and locate the third man allegedly involved in the incidents.
