Six teenagers have been charged after an allegedly stolen vehicle led police on a pursuit from Queanbeyan into the ACT and back into NSW early Monday.

NSW police attempted to stop the four-wheel drive for random testing on Cooma Street, Queanbeyan, about 1.45am, but the driver allegedly failed to stop.

The pursuit continued through Queanbeyan and along the Kings Highway towards Bungendore, entering the ACT before returning to NSW.

Police deployed road spikes on the Kings Highway before the vehicle stopped on Bungendore Road.

The driver, a 16-year-old girl, and five passengers aged 15 and 16 were arrested.

The driver has been charged with offences including failing to stop during a police pursuit, taking and driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent, receiving property stolen outside NSW worth more than $15,000 and learner licence offences.

The five passengers have each been charged with being carried in a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Police allege the vehicle was stolen from an ACT address on Saturday.
