Rivett man accused of choking two women

A 23-year-old Rivett man has been charged after allegedly assaulting two women and twice failing to stop for police.

Police were called to a disturbance at a Rivett home about 5.20pm on Thursday.

Officers arrived to find a man leaving the scene in a vehicle. Police spoke to two women, who alleged the man had assaulted them multiple times, including striking and choking them.

A traffic stop was attempted, but the driver allegedly failed to stop.

About 7.30pm, police located the man driving in Kambah. He allegedly attempted to evade police again before officers stopped the vehicle a short time later.

The man has been charged with five counts of aggravated common assault, two counts of choke/suffocate/strangle another person, forcible confinement, failing to stop for police and using an unregistered vehicle.
