Woman arrested for triple zero nuisance calls

A 41-year-old Narrabundah woman has been charged after allegedly making multiple non-emergency triple zero calls overnight.

At about 2.35am on Monday, the woman called the triple zero police emergency line to report a matter that was not an emergency.

She then allegedly called the emergency line a further seven times within an hour, becoming verbally aggressive and swearing at operators.

At about 3.45am, police arrested her at home.

Police say it is an offence under ACT and Commonwealth legislation to make a false report to police, cause police or other emergency service resources to be wasted, or use a telephone service to harass a person.
