Light rail services between Gungahlin Place and Alinga Street will be replaced by buses for the first weekend of July to allow construction work on Light Rail Stage 2A.
Rail replacement buses will operate across the entire network from the first service on July 4 until the last service on July 5, with normal light rail services resuming on July 6.
The ACT Government says buses will stop at all regular light rail stations and run at similar or better frequencies than the usual tram timetable.
Motorists can also expect road closures and lane reductions on Northbourne Avenue and surrounding streets during the weekend.
Southbound lanes on Northbourne Avenue between Bunda Street and Alinga Street will be closed between 1am and 5am on July 5 and July 6, while Northbourne Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Mouat Street and Swinden Street from July 4 to July 6.
The works will take place around the Alinga Street light rail stop and the intersection of Northbourne Avenue and Rudd Street/Bunda Street as construction continues on the extension to Commonwealth Park.
