Police defected 36 vehicles and caught an alleged drink driver with a baby in the car during a joint road safety operation across Canberra on Tuesday.
The operation, involving road police officers and ACT vehicle safety inspectors, included 372 roadside breath tests and resulted in 12 traffic infringements.
Police allege a 31-year-old Mawson man returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.089 after being stopped on Yarra Glen Drive in Curtin about 1.10pm.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended. He is accused of having a nine-month-old baby in the vehicle and will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court.
