A 39-year-old north Canberra man has been charged with multiple sexual assault and incest offences involving a child related to him.

Police allege the man sexually assaulted the child multiple times at a Canberra home between 2018 and 2020.

The alleged offences were reported to police in New Zealand and the man was arrested by ACT police on Friday.

He has been charged with two counts of acts of indecency on a person under 16 and one count each of incest involving a lineal descendant aged over 10 and under 16, an act of indecency on a person under 10, grooming and aggravated common assault.
