Man charged with threat to kill housemate

A 26-year-old man has been charged after allegedly threatening to kill his housemate during a violent incident in Braddon on Tuesday evening.

Police say about 6pm, the two men were in the kitchen of their shared home when the 26-year-old man shoved his housemate, causing him to lose balance.

He then allegedly grabbed the man by the throat before picking up a knife and pressing it against his chest.

The man eventually released him and the victim later sought medical treatment.

The 26-year-old was arrested about 9pm on Wednesday.

He has been charged with reckless threat to kill a person and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
