Prospective housemate sexually assaulted

A 33-year-old man has been charged after allegedly sexually assaulting his prospective housemate on Sunday evening.

At about 5pm, police allege the man and a woman had dinner at his home in Bruce before she planned to move in.

A short time later, the woman fell asleep. When she woke later in the evening, the man was allegedly sexually assaulting her in his bed.

At about 11.30pm, police attended the residence for a separate matter. After speaking with the woman, she was taken to hospital and the man was arrested.

He is charged with sexual intercourse without consent.
