A 32-year-old man has been charged with allegedly grooming his young daughter and taking explicit photos of her over several years.

Police allege the man directed his daughter to pose for photos while she was undressed.

The alleged incidents were reported to police and officers searched a north Canberra home on Thursday, where the man was arrested.

Police seized three mobile phones and allegedly found suspected child-abuse material on one of the devices.

The man has been charged with aggravated acts of indecency against a person under 10 and a person under 16, and grooming a young person.
