
A 54-year-old man has been charged after police allege a hidden camera was installed in a public toilet at the North Canberra Hospital.
Police allege the man installed a small camera underneath a sink in the North Canberra Hospital emergency waiting room toilet.
The device was discovered by cleaners about two weeks later and reported to police.
Officers from Belconnen Police Station reviewed CCTV footage and identified the man before searching a Civic residence.
Police arrested the man and seized several electronic items, including storage devices and a mobile phone. Those items are now under examination.
The man has been charged with capturing intimate visual data.
Anyone who used the public toilet in the hospital emergency waiting room between 8.30pm and midnight on Wednesday, January 7, should contact police via Crime Stoppers ACT or call 1800 333000.
