A man and woman have been charged after police allegedly found two firearms, two tasers and more than $10,000 in cash following a failed traffic stop in Belconnen.
Police say officers attempted to stop a black Nissan Navara in McKellar about 12.40pm on Wednesday.
The vehicle allegedly drove towards a police car before officers deployed tyre deflation devices, striking one tyre. The Navara then fled before being found abandoned a short time later.
Police arrested a 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man in nearby Evatt.
Officers allegedly found a firearm, two tasers and more than $10,000 in cash during searches after the arrests. A second firearm was later recovered in McKellar.
The woman has been charged with unauthorised possession of one or two firearms. The man has been charged with possessing ammunition and possessing a prohibited weapon without authorisation.
