Elderly man critical after crash

An 89-year-old man is in a critical condition after he was struck by a car in Lyneham on Tuesday afternoon.

At about 4.30pm police responded to reports a vehicle had collided with a pedestrian on Ellenborough Street in Lyneham.

The driver, a 94-year-old woman, is assisting police with their enquiries.

The 89-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has dash-cam footage is urged to contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
