A 43-year-old Richardson man has been charged with multiple offences after police seized cannabis plants, suspected drugs, firearms and anabolic steroids during a search of his home.

Police were tipped off last week about alleged firearms and drug offences being committed at a Richardson residence.

Detectives from the Tuggeranong Major Crime Squad searched the home on Saturday afternoon.

A short time later, the 43-year-old man returned to the residence and allegedly attempted to enter a neighbour’s home, causing damage in the process. He was arrested at the scene.

During the search, police found:

  • Eight small cannabis plants
  • Three large cannabis plants
  • Dried cannabis
  • Heat lamps and hydroponic equipment
  • Approximately three grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine
  • Two air-guns and a gel blaster
  • Nine vials of anabolic steroids

The man was charged with unauthorised possession of firearms, cultivating a cannabis plant for sale, possessing equipment for cultivating a controlled plant, possessing a drug of dependence, possessing anabolic steroids, attempted burglary and property damage.
