A woman was taken to hospital after her vehicle crashed on the Tuggeranong Parkway on Saturday afternoon.

Police say a grey Ford Escape struck a barrier and came to a stop on the side of the parkway between Cotter Road and Hindmarsh Drive about 2.20pm.

The driver was assessed by paramedics before being taken to hospital for observation.

Before the collision, witnesses reported seeing the Ford Escape being driven erratically in the southbound lanes of the Tuggeranong Parkway between Lady Denman Drive and Hindmarsh Drive.

Police are seeking witnesses or dash-cam footage of the vehicle before the crash.
