A section of Coppins Crossing Road will close for three days this month to allow safety barriers to be installed on the new Molonglo River bridge.
The road will be closed in both directions between Holborow Avenue and Hazel Hawke Avenue from 2am on June 15 until 6pm on June 17, weather permitting.
The closure is required to install safety rails and screens on the southbound side of the bridge, with contingency days available later in the week if work is delayed.
Detours will be in place via William Hovell Drive, Parkes Way, Tuggeranong Parkway, John Gorton Drive and Cotter Road.
The ACT Government says further closures are planned in July to install safety barriers on the northbound side of the bridge.
The new Molonglo River bridge and completion of John Gorton Drive are intended to improve connections between the Molonglo Valley, Belconnen and the wider Canberra road network.
Motorists are being advised to allow extra travel time during the closure period.
