Coppins Crossing reopens after bridge works

The Coppins Crossing Road closure allowed safety rails and throw-screen barriers to be installed on the northern side of the new Molonglo River Bridge.

Coppins Crossing Road has reopened following the completion of safety works on the new Molonglo River Bridge.

The road between Holborow Avenue and Hazel Hawke Avenue reopened today after being closed in both directions since Wednesday while crews worked on the bridge above the road.

The closure allowed safety rails and throw-screen barriers to be installed on the northern side of the new bridge. Similar barriers were installed on its southern side in June.

The works form part of the new Molonglo River Bridge and John Gorton Drive project, which is intended to improve connections through the growing Molonglo Valley and between suburbs including Denman Prospect and Whitlam.
