Three people were trapped under a car and seriously injured when it crashed into a shopfront at Cooleman Court shopping centre in Weston last week.

Police say a silver Subaru Forester driven by an elderly woman crashed into the business about 11.45am on Friday.

Three people inside the shop were trapped beneath the vehicle before being freed by ACT Fire and Rescue crews.

They were taken to hospital in serious but stable conditions, while the driver was hospitalised with minor injuries. She tested negative for drugs and alcohol.

Two days later, police received a report of a burglary at a shopfront at Cooleman Court about 1.10pm on Sunday, during which multiple items were allegedly stolen.

Police are investigating both incidents, including the circumstances of the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about the burglary is urged to contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
