Boy charged twice in a week over stolen cars

A 14-year-old boy has been charged for the second time in a week after allegedly leading police on a pursuit in a stolen car through Canberra’s south.

Police say officers spotted a stolen Skoda Octavia in Yarralumla about 10.15pm on Sunday.

The vehicle was allegedly driven through several suburbs before police deployed tyre deflation devices in Kambah.

Police allege the boy continued driving despite the tyres being deflated before the vehicle came to a stop a short time later.

The 14-year-old, who was already on bail over an alleged stolen vehicle incident on Thursday, has been charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent, unlicensed driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
