Jetstar will increase capacity on its direct Canberra-Brisbane service from April, upgrading to larger aircraft on the route.

The airline plans to replace its current Airbus A320 jets with larger A321LR aircraft, which can carry an additional 52 passengers per flight.

Canberra Airport CEO Stephen Byron said the change represented a 15 per cent increase in passenger capacity on the route.
