Ainslie man charged after vet clinic burglary

A 37-year-old Ainslie man has been arrested after allegedly causing extensive damage at a Lyneham veterinary clinic and stealing pharmaceutical drugs.

Police say about 1am on Thursday, police were alerted to the burglary where it is alleged the man smashed the front entry with a fire extinguisher before ransacking the premises and filling a bin with veterinary pharmaceutical products valued at about $15,000.

Police also allege the man caused extensive damage to the clinic’s laboratory area, forcing the business to close on Thursday.

The man was arrested early on Friday morning after a minor theft incident at a licensed club in Dickson.

He has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft and minor theft.
