Canberrans have until Tuesday, (November 3) to suggest changes to electoral boundaries and electorate names ahead of the 2028 ACT election.
ACT Electoral Commissioner Damian Cantwell says residents, community groups, organisations and political parties can lodge suggestions through the Elections ACT online mapping tool.
The redistribution will review the boundaries of the ACT’s five electorates – Brindabella, Ginninderra, Kurrajong, Murrumbidgee and Yerrabi – to reflect population and enrolment changes.
Each electorate elects five members to the 25-member Legislative Assembly.
Electoral enrolments must be projected to fall within five per cent of the quota for each electorate at the 2028 election.
All submissions will be published after November 3, followed by a 14-day public comment period.
The Redistribution Committee will then release proposed boundaries and electorate names for a further 28-day objection period before final decisions are made.
Cantwell says the committee has not yet formed any views on possible boundary or name changes.
