Woman bites police officer on the leg

A 44-year-old Moncrieff woman allegedly bit a police officer on the leg during an arrest on Monday morning.

Police had been called to a residence in Moncrieff following a report of a disturbance between the woman and her partner. The couple agreed to keep the peace for 24 hours.

But by late morning police arrested the woman for breaching the peace.

Police say that, during the arrest, the woman became aggressive and allegedly bit one of the arresting officers on the leg.

She has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of resisting a territory public official.
