Man charged with threat to kill and bottle shop robbery

A 29-year-old man is facing court after allegedly threatening to kill a person on Monday afternoon and robbing a bottle shop in Gungahlin last week.

At about 4pm the man got into an argument with residents of an apartment complex in Watson before allegedly pulling a knife and running at another man. After a struggle, he ran off without the knife.

He was arrested a short time later and police identified him as the person allegedly involved in the bottle shop robbery.

On May 26 police allege the man entered the Cellarbrations store on Ernest Cavanagh Street and threatened staff with a large knife before fleeing the store with cash.

He has been charged with aggravated robbery, threatening to kill a person, and possessing an offensive weapon with intent.
