A 34-year-old Queanbeyan man, driving on an international licence and in a vehicle with a suspended registration, has been charged with drink driving after hitting traffic lights on Canberra Avenue, Fyshwick, on Monday night.
At about 11.30pm, police attended the single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Newcastle Street and Canberra Avenue, Fyshwick.
The driver refused a roadside breath test and was arrested. He was taken to the City Police Station where he provided a breath analysis of 0.137.
The man – the holder of an international driver’s licence – was subject to a breath alcohol limit of zero.
He faces the ACT Magistrates Court in September, charged with drink driving, failing a roadside screening test, and using a vehicle with suspended registration.
