Man extradited to ACT over family violence

A 38-year-old Bhutanese national has been extradited from Perth after allegedly failing to appear in court on family violence charges.

Police say the man was charged with aggravated common assault and aggravated property damage following an incident at a Scullin home in April last year.

He was granted bail but failed to appear in court in May 2025, prompting the issue of an arrest warrant.

Earlier this week, the man was identified while allegedly attempting to leave Australia and was stopped by Australian Border Force officers.

With his extradition sought from Western Australia, he was returned to the ACT on Thursday night.
