A 30-year-old Hughes man has been charged following an alleged blackmail and aggravated robbery in Belconnen last month.
Police allege the man threatened another man in late April, demanding money and threatening to make false reports to police if payments were not made.
The victim allegedly transferred money before being asked to meet the man and another person at his Belconnen apartment on April 27.
Police allege the pair assaulted the man, with the 30-year-old allegedly producing a firearm to intimidate him before he was knocked unconscious.
While the victim was unconscious, police allege the offenders stole property including a motorbike, mobile phones, jewellery, footwear and a drone worth more than $20,000.
Police searched a Hughes home on Monday, where they seized items allegedly linked to the incident and a taser.
The man has been charged with joint commission blackmail, aggravated robbery in company, choking a person insensible, concealing evidence and possessing a prohibited weapon without authorisation.
