Three charged over Jerrabomberra road rage

Three people have now been charged following a road rage incident in Jerrabomberra last month after a 42-year-old man was charged on Tuesday afternoon.

About 4.30pm on Sunday, April 19, police responded to the intersection of Edwin Land Parkway and Stringybark Drive, about six kilometres south-east of Queanbeyan, following reports of an alleged road rage incident.

Officers were told a man, allegedly armed with a plank of wood, had threatened people inside a blue Volkswagen Golf.

Police will allege a 46-year-old female driver, who was known to the man, was verbally abused by two people inside the Volkswagen Golf earlier that day.

Officers went to the area, finding no-one.

A short time later, police spoke with a 42-year-old man at his Jerrabomberra home.

Following inquiries, on April 22, a 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl attended Queanbeyan Police Station and were charged.

The 20-year-old man was charged with driving motor vehicle and menacing another with intent.

The 15-year-old girl was charged with two counts of behaving in an offensive manner in/near a public place.

Following further inquiries, on Tuesday afternoon the 42-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and possessing an offensive implement in a public place.
